You have a lot of customers and would like to easily assign their workflows and account managers? We've got you covered.
From the customer list view, you can import the customer assignation via CSV.
Format your file
Your file needs to have the following columns:
-
External Id: the customer's id from your source tool (QuickBooks, Netsuite, Stripe, Chargebee, etc..). If necessary, you can find it by exporting your customers from Upflow and checking the External Id column.
-
Account manager email: the email of the account manager. Note: the account manager needs to be invited to Upflow (Invite and manage your organization's users).
-
Workflow name: the exact name of the workflow.
It should be formatted as a CSV.
If you want to assign multiple users to the same customer, you'll need to separate their email address by a comma. 🙂
Step by step process
1. Go to your customer list view
2. Click on Add customers > Assign customers
3. Import your file
4. Map the corresponding columns (additional columns will be discarded)
5. Submit and wait for the assignation to happen!
6. Once the assignation is done you will get a notification. Quickly check if the import was successful, if it's not the case, you can see the error lines and update your file accordingly!
Import errors
From the notification link or the Import history, check your latest import by clicking it.
You'll then see the following information, indicating the number of errors and showing the identified errors:
You can click Download lines with errors, to check them closely, filter on potential other errors not visible in this view. So you can then correct your file and attempt a new import.
Note that even if only one error is detected, the import will be marked as "Error". You can quickly see how many customers were updated from the import list, or the top of the import details.
Possible errors and solutions
Error | Solution |
The customer was not found | Check and update your customer external ID in your file. |
User not found, check the email | It can be due to a typo in the address, or between multiple addresses. Or the user doesn't exist in Upflow and and must be created. |
